Archicentre

Archicentre is the building advisory service of the Australian Institute of Architects.

Since 1981, it has offered architectural services to homebuyers, builders of new homes, and renovators. Services are packaged into set-fee, set-service formats, to help people who might not previously have considered using an architect access a range of profesisonal architectural functions.

Archicentre connects with over 900 architects Australiawide, in nearly every suburb and region. With offices in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Adelaide, Perth and Hobart, and many regional branches, it can deliver prompt professional services across the country.

Archicentre also distributes free technical advice to thousands of homebuyers every year, through its range of property inspections, its Architect’s Advice line, and series of Homebuyer Seminars.
This advice distils accumulated expertise on identifying house faults and providing remedies for them. Seminars include other professionals such as legal practitioners, real estate professionals, accountants and professionals from other Institutes, all providing their expert advice free.

Advice includes technical sheets on house faults, design issues, and the benefits you can expect from using an architect. Archicentre’s website provides information 24–7.
